A Tournament with a Mission
Lacrosse is more than a game—it’s a bridge to opportunity, teamwork, and growth. The Rich Rattner Classic isn’t just a tournament; it’s a movement to expand access to the sport in Pittsburgh. Hosted by the City of Bridges Lacrosse Foundation and the Barrels Lacrosse Club, this event is designed to bring the lacrosse community together, raise awareness for our mission, and generate funds to help launch new programs for underserved youth.
Why We Play
The City of Bridges Lacrosse Foundation was founded to bring lacrosse to more kids in Pittsburgh—especially in areas where access to equipment, coaching, and playing opportunities is limited. Right now, only one Pittsburgh public school offers varsity lacrosse. We’re here to change that.
Every dollar raised from this tournament goes toward supporting the Foundation and its goals of:
✔ Funding new lacrosse programs in underserved areas
✔ Providing equipment to kids who need it
✔ Hosting free play days to introduce more young athletes to the game
By playing in the Rich Rattner Classic, you’re not just competing—you’re helping build a stronger, more inclusive future for lacrosse in Pittsburgh.
Tournament Format
8 Team Tournament with two 4 team pools in a round robin format
Champion’s Game between the winner of each pool to determine playoff seating
Single-Elimination Playoff (All teams make the playoff)
Every team is guaranteed 4 games

📅 Registration Deadline: All Registrations must be completed by April 5th
Any registrations after April 5th will be charged a late fee and will not be able to register for an equipment package.
Don’t have a full team? No problem—individual player registration is available but limited!
